At Cyber8, we are seeking a SOC Analyst – Level 1 with at least one year of SOC experience and minimum one year of IT Helpdesk or technical support experience. This role involves monitoring security events and alerts, triaging incidents, and escalating issues according to defined processes. The analyst will review logs, correlate data across tools, and support cyber threat hunting activities to identify suspicious behavior. Day-to-day tasks also include documenting findings, maintaining incident records, assisting with cyber threat intelligence gathering, and collaborating with senior team members to support investigations and continuous improvement of SOC procedures. The role requires consistent adherence to security best practices and clear communication with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and triage security alerts from SIEM, EDR, firewall, email security, and other security platforms.
- Perform Level 1 investigation of phishing, malware, suspicious logins, account compromise, endpoint alerts, and malicious IP/domain activity.
- Analyze Windows, Linux, network,



identity, cloud, and Microsoft 365 security logs.
- Validate alerts, identify false positives, assign severity, and escalate incidents to L2 analysts.
- Create and update security tickets with transparent investigation notes, evidence, impact, and recommended actions.
- Follow SOC playbooks, incident-response procedures, and SLA requirements.
- Support phishing-email analysis, IOC enrichment, and basic threat-intelligence research.
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal technical teams.
- Assist with SIEM rule tuning, alert documentation, reporting, and shift handovers.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up on open incidents.
