Job Title: Design Engineer-UG NX (Interior and Exterior Plastic Trim)

Overall experience-5-7 Years

Location-Chennai

Qualification-BE/B.Tech

Mandatory Skills- Interior and exterior plastic trim components, UG NX, Automotive domain, DFM, DFMEA, DVP, GD&T;, Design Validation, injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming, draft analysis, wall thickness checks, and tolerance stack-up for plastic parts, PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter)-Positive to have.

DETAILED JD:
- Design and develop interior and exterior plastic trim components (e.g., door panels, instrument panels, pillar trims, bumper trims) using UG NX.
- Proficiency in UG NX (Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly Design, Drafting).
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of automotive interior/exterior trim design standards and automotive regulations
- Familiarity with DFM, DFMEA, DVP,



GD&T; and support design validation activities.
- Proficient in creating and interpreting master sections.
- Ensure design feasibility considering manufacturing processes like injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming.
- Perform draft analysis, wall thickness checks, and tolerance stack-up for plastic parts.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively through presentations and one-on-one meetings.
- Work independently to deliver assigned tasks on a daily and weekly basis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Styling, CAE, Tooling, Manufacturing) to ensure design meets aesthetic, functional, and safety requirements.
