HPC Infrastructure Engineer (Contract)

Location: Chennai or Bangalore Hybrid

Duration: Contract until the end of 2026

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HPC Infrastructure Engineer to support and improve a large-scale High Performance Computing (HPC) platform used by research teams. You will build, manage, automate, and optimize HPC infrastructure while ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain HPC infrastructure and services.
- Manage HPC clusters and job schedulers.
- Automate deployments using DevOps and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support.
- Work closely with users to improve HPC services and solve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in HPC, HTC, or large-scale computing environments.
- Solid Linux system administration skills.
- Experience with HPC schedulers such as Slurm, LSF, or Grid Engine.




- Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with OpenStack or other private cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and enterprise storage systems.
- Experience managing parallel file systems such as Weka, GPFS, or Lustre.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Salt.
- Strong scripting skills using Bash and Python.
- Experience working with third-party vendors.

Nice to Have
- Experience working in large-scale HPC environments (10,000+ cores).
- Public cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Singularity, or LXD.
- Terraform, Vault, Consul, or Nomad.
- Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, or SQL.
- Experience with InfiniBand or other high-speed networking technologies.
- Scientific or research computing background.
