Job Purpose

The Visual Art Teacher is responsible for delivering an engaging and skill-based Visual Arts programme for students of Grades V to VIII, with a specialization in
Printmaking
and a robust foundation in
Painting
. The role focuses on nurturing creativity, artistic expression, technical skills, and appreciation of visual arts in alignment with the CBSE curriculum and the school's educational philosophy. The teacher will create an inclusive, safe, and inspiring studio environment while encouraging experimentation, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary learning.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Curriculum Planning & Teaching
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Printmaking and Painting for Grades V–VIII as per the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare annual, monthly, and weekly lesson plans aligned with learning outcomes.
- Introduce students to various printmaking techniques such as relief printing, lino cut, mono printing, block printing,



stencil printing, and mixed media.
- Teach drawing, composition, colour theory, painting techniques, and art appreciation.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to varying learning abilities and artistic interests.

Student Learning & Assessment
- Assess students through practical work, portfolios, projects, exhibitions, and classroom participation.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to support artistic growth.
- Maintain student portfolios and records of progress.
- Identify and encourage talented students for competitions and advanced learning opportunities.

Art Studio & Resource Management
- Maintain the art studio, printmaking tools, equipment, and materials in an organised and safe condition.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of paints, inks, printing blocks, rollers, presses, and other art supplies.
- Plan material requirements and support inventory management within the allocated budget.
