Job Description FMS Engineer (Plant Operations)

Job Summary

We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to provide Level-1 technical support for manufacturing plant operations. The role involves supporting end users, troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and production-related IT systems to ensure uninterrupted business and shop-floor operations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Level-1 support for desktops, laptops, AV systems, and non-GBS applications deployed at the plant.

Troubleshoot and support iPads, handheld scanners, barcode printers, and other end-user devices.

Monitor and resolve Wi-Fi and network connectivity issues across the plant, including support for approximately 120 Access Points (APs).

Support production line PCs and manufacturing applications, including VCD, VVR, and other business-critical systems.

Provide technical assistance for AI Safe Vision devices and related technologies.

Perform data backup and restoration activities as required.





Coordinate with infrastructure teams and external vendors during server outages, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

Record, track, and update incidents through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.

Provide remote support and be available for critical incidents outside business hours, including weekends and holidays when required.

Requirements

25 years of experience in Desktop Support, IT Infrastructure, or Manufacturing IT environments.

Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.

Experience supporting production/shop-floor IT systems is preferred.

Positive communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualification

Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or ITIL will be an added advantage.
