Head of Department (HOD) – Allied Health Sciences

Job Summary

The Head of the Department (HOD) will provide academic, administrative, and strategic leadership to the Department of Allied Health Sciences. The role involves ensuring excellence in teaching, research, curriculum development, student success, accreditation compliance, faculty development, industry collaboration, and departmental growth. The HOD will foster innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and a research-oriented academic environment while maintaining high standards of quality education.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead academic planning and departmental operations.
- Ensure implementation of NEP 2020, OBE, CBCS, and university regulations.
- Oversee curriculum development, teaching quality, and student learning outcomes.
- Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and develop faculty members.
- Promote research, publications, funded projects, patents, and innovation.
- Monitor student performance, internships, placements, and career development.
- Manage departmental administration, budgets, timetables, laboratories,



and compliance.
- Lead accreditation activities (NAAC, NBA, NABL, IQAC) and quality assurance initiatives.
- Build industry partnerships, MoUs, consultancy projects, and cooperative research.
- Drive departmental growth through admissions, infrastructure development, and continuous improvement

Qualification
- Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Medical Life Sciences, Radiology, Medical Imaging Technology, Allied Health Sciences, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- First Class at Bachelor's and Master's level in the relevant specialization.
- Eligibility as per UGC and applicable regulatory body norms.

Experience
- Minimum 15 years of teaching, research, and academic administration experience in higher education.
- At least 5 years of experience as Professor, Head of Department, or equivalent academic leadership position.
