We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented VMC Operator cum Programmer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in creating CNC/VMC programs, setting up the machines, and operating them to produce high-precision components. You will be responsible for the entire process, from reading drawings to final machining.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming: Write and optimize 2D/3D VMC programs using CAM software (such as Mastercam, Delcam/PowerMill, or similar) or manual G-code/M-code programming.
- Machine Setup: Set up VMC machines, including workpiece clamping, tool selection, job setting, and coordinate offset setting (Work Coordinate System - WCS).
- Operation: Run production runs on VMC machines efficiently, monitoring tool wear and making necessary offset adjustments.
- Quality Inspection: Use precision measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, height gauges, dial gauges) to inspect finished parts and ensure they match drawing specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine errors, programming bugs,
or tooling issues during operation.
- Maintenance: Perform basic daily preventive maintenance on the machines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a VMC Operator and Programmer.
- Controller Knowledge: Strong hands-on experience with Mitsubishi controllers.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, PowerMill, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Technical Drawing: Expert-level ability to read and interpret complex 2D engineering drawings and GD&T; symbols.
- Education: ITI, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent vocational training.
