Job Summary

The MEP Incharge is responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and preventive maintenance of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in the hospital. The role ensures uninterrupted utility services, compliance with NABH standards, statutory regulations, safety requirements, and optimum functioning of all engineering equipment to support quality patient care.

Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Systems
- Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, and exhaust systems.
- Monitor Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS) in coordination with biomedical and clinical departments.
- Supervise operation and maintenance of air compressors, vacuum pumps, and boilers (where applicable).
- Maintain OT HVAC parameters as per hospital standards.

Electrical Systems
- Oversee operation and maintenance of HT/LT electrical panels.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the hospital.
- Monitor transformers, diesel generators (DG Sets), UPS systems, and battery banks.




- Ensure proper functioning of emergency power backup systems.
- Conduct periodic electrical inspections and preventive maintenance.

Plumbing Systems
- Maintain water supply systems, pumps, pipelines, valves, overhead tanks, underground tanks, and sewage systems.
- Monitor STP (Sewage Treatment Plant), WTP (Water Treatment Plant), and RO plant operations.
- Ensure adequate water quality and uninterrupted supply.
- Coordinate repairs of plumbing leakages and drainage issues.

Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules for all MEP equipment.
- Attend emergency breakdowns promptly.
- Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and service records.
- Coordinate Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and Comprehensive Maintenance Contracts (CMC).

Utility Management
- Monitor electricity, water, diesel, and utility consumption.
- Identify opportunities for energy conservation and cost optimization.
