1. Gold Valuation
- Assess and evaluate gold ornaments, coins, and bullion to determine purity, weight, and market value.
- Provide accurate valuation for buying, exchange, or internal assessment purposes.
2. Gold Testing
- Conduct purity testing using XRF machines (preferably Fischer brand) and traditional touchstone methods.
- Verify karat levels and identify mixed metals or impurities.
3. Melting & Assaying
- Perform controlled melting of gold items when required to determine exact purity and recoverable value.
- Ensure proper documentation and transparency during melting and valuation.
4. Weight Verification
- Accurately weigh gold items using calibrated weighing scales before and after melting/testing.
5. Price Calculation
- Calculate the final gold value based on purity, net weight, and prevailing market gold rates.
6. Documentation
- Maintain proper records of gold received, tested, melted, and valued.
- Prepare valuation reports and ensure compliance with company procedures.
7. Security & Compliance
- Follow strict internal security protocols for handling high-value precious metals.
- Ensure transparency and integrity during the entire appraisal process.
8. Customer Interaction
- Explain valuation results clearly to customers and answer queries professionally.
9. Equipment Handling
- Maintain and operate XRF testing machines and melting equipment safely and efficiently.
10. Other Responsibilities
- Assist management with stock verification, audits, and any other related tasks assigned.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience: 25 years of experience as a Gold Appraiser / Gold Tester in jewellery retail, gold loan companies, or bullion trade.
- Education: Minimum 12th Pass; commerce background preferred.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Experience in gold purity testing using XRF machines (Fischer preferred).
- Knowledge of touchstone testing and acid testing methods.
