Job Title:
Assistant Fabric Technologist

Tirupur, India

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and approval of recent fabric qualities, ensuring all submissions meet technical specifications, performance standards, and critical path timelines.
- Review and approve bulk fabric submissions, ensuring compliance with quality, appearance, colour continuity, and performance requirements before bulk production.
- Conduct technical evaluations of fabric mills, laundries, and print plants, assessing manufacturing capability, compliance, environmental standards, and chemical management.
- Coordinate pre-production activities, including risk analysis, fabric tolerance reviews, and technical handover meetings with cross-functional teams.
- Confirm care label requirements and ensure compliance with product safety regulations, including REACH, restricted substances, and legal labelling requirements.
- Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.




- Support the monitoring and control of banned and restricted substances through supplier engagement, testing, and training.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising teams, suppliers, garment technologists, quality assurance teams, and the UK technical team to resolve technical issues and deliver products that meet NEXT's quality standards.

Requirement:
- Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Clothing Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in fabric technology, textile testing, quality assurance, or a similar role within the apparel or textile industry.
- Good understanding of fabric construction, textile testing, dyeing and finishing processes, and garment manufacturing.
- Knowledge of textile compliance requirements, restricted substances, and product safety standards will be an advantage.
