Role & responsibilities

1. Develop, qualify, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Records (WQTR/WPQR).
2. Ensure all welding activities comply with applicable API, ASME, ASTM, and customer specifications.
3. Monitor and control welding processes, parameters, and consumables to achieve quality and productivity targets.
4. Provide technical guidance and training to welders on approved welding procedures and best practices.
5. Coordinate with QA/QC teams for welding inspections, NDT activities, and documentation.
6. Review weld maps, engineering drawings, welding symbols, material specifications, and fabrication requirements.
7. Investigate welding defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
8. Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Quality departments to ensure timely completion of fabrication activities.
9. Maintain welding documentation, inspection records, WPS/PQR files, and quality reports for audits and customer requirements.




10. Support internal, customer, and third-party audits related to welding quality systems.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, SMAW (Stick), and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) processes.
- Hands-on experience in developing and implementing WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification Records.
- Strong knowledge of quality control practices, welding inspection, and NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, data sheets, and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of welding metallurgy, heat treatment, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of API, ASME Section IX, ASTM, and relevant international welding standards.
- Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience in pressure-containing equipment, industrial valves, or process equipment manufacturing
