Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented L1 Application / Network Monitoring Engineer to join our support team. The candidate will be responsible for real-time monitoring of applications, servers, and network infrastructure, identifying alerts, performing initial troubleshooting, and escalating issues as per defined processes.

This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a robust foundation in infrastructure support, application monitoring, networking, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Incident Management
- Monitor applications, servers, databases, and network devices using monitoring tools.
- Identify, analyze, and acknowledge alerts within defined SLAs.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and basic root cause analysis.
- Log incidents in ticketing systems and update details accurately.
- Escalate issues to L2/L3 teams as per escalation matrix.
- Follow SOPs and runbooks for issue handling.

Application Support
- Monitor application availability and performance.
- Validate application services, URLs, APIs, and scheduled jobs.




- Restart services (as per access and SOP).
- Perform basic log analysis to identify common issues.

Network Monitoring
- Monitor network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Check device availability, bandwidth utilization, packet loss.
- Perform basic connectivity checks (Ping, Tracert, Telnet).
- Coordinate with network team during outages.

Cloud & Infrastructure Basics
- Monitor cloud resources (VMs, storage, services) on platforms like AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Basic understanding of VM states, scaling, and cloud alerts.
- Identify infrastructure resource threshold breaches (CPU, Memory, Disk).

Security Awareness
- Identify and escalate suspicious activities or security alerts.
- Basic understanding of firewall, VPN, antivirus, and access controls.
- Ensure adherence to IT security policies and compliance standards.
