We are seeking a Carbon Credit Legal Advocate to provide expert legal advice, advocacy, and support related to carbon credit projects and markets. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with evolving environmental laws, navigating international and domestic carbon credit frameworks, and advocating for sustainable climate solutions. This role involves working closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and market participants to facilitate legally sound and ethically robust carbon credit transactions.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory and Compliance:
- Advise clients on legal frameworks governing carbon credit projects, including those related to the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), voluntary carbon markets, and compliance markets (e.g., EU ETS, CORSIA).
- Ensure compliance with international, regional, and national climate policies, including the Paris Agreement,



local emission reduction requirements, and carbon accounting protocols.

Contract Drafting and Negotiation:
- Draft and negotiate contracts related to carbon credit transactions, such as Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements (ERPAs), financing agreements, and licensing arrangements.
- Review project documentation to assess legal risks and ensure enforce ability.

Advocacy and Representation:
- Represent clients in regulatory proceedings, negotiations with governments, and disputes over carbon credit claims or certifications.
- Advocate for clients in lobbying efforts for favorable carbon credit regulations and policies.

Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Monitor developments in carbon credit markets and advise clients on legal implications of recent mechanisms, technologies, and methodologies.
- Develop strategies to minimize risks and maximize opportunities in carbon credit projects.
