About the role
The Senior Insights Analyst plays a pivotal role in translating raw data into actionable insights, designing high-quality reporting suites, and supporting squad or business partners with analytical solutions. By leveraging robust data governance, modern visualization tools, and basic statistical modelling, this role bridges the gap between complex datasets and core business metrics to drive measurable value.

What you’ll do
Data Extraction & Manipulation: Independently write clean, basic SQL (including SELECT, JOIN, WHERE, GROUP BY) to extract and prepare data from structured enterprise tables. Adhere strictly to team coding styles and utilize basic Git/Version Control commands (such as commit, push, pull).




Reporting & Data Visualisation: Design, build, and maintain standard charts, dashboards, and reporting assets in key tools (Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, Power BI). Ensure all visualizations are consistent with Woolworths Group brand guidelines and feature intuitive formatting, explicit labels, and action-oriented titles.
Descriptive & Diagnostic Analysis: Perform descriptive analysis (evaluating mean, median, distribution) to answer core business questions ("what happened"). Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues (such as nulls and duplicates) during data cleaning, and build basic linear regressions to support descriptive projects.
Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve script or query issues independently by interpreting SQL or Python error messages. Break down complex queries to isolate logic errors and optimize execution times while remaining mindful of basic cloud platform or techni
