Job Summary
The Psychology Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in psychology
courses, fostering student learning, conducting assessments, mentoring students, and
contributing to the academic development of the department. The lecturer is expected to
maintain academic standards, participate in research and institutional activities, and support
curriculum enhancement.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in undergraduate and/or postgraduate
psychology courses.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and course content in accordance with the
university curriculum.
¢ Assess student performance through assignments, examinations, presentations, and
practical evaluations.
¢ Provide academic advising and mentoring to students.
¢ Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and academic records.
¢ Participate in curriculum design, review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
¢ Encourage student participation in research projects, seminars, workshops, and
conferences.




¢ Conduct scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed journals, where applicable.
¢ Participate in departmental meetings, faculty committees, accreditation activities, and
institutional events.
¢ Supervise student projects, dissertations, or internships as assigned.
¢ Ensure compliance with institutional policies, academic regulations, and quality
standards.
¢ Stay updated with developments in psychology and adopt innovative teaching
methodologies.
Required Qualifications
¢ Master's degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Psychology with a minimum of 55% marks from a
recognized university.
¢ NET/SLET qualification preferred or required as per applicable regulatory norms.
¢ Ph.D. in Psychology is preferred.
¢ Teaching or research experience in a higher education institution is desirable.
