Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
The role is for a Manager with the responsibility Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems deliverables and to provide cross functional leadership in the development of the wider Chassis &system; department. Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead the day-to-day management of the Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems. Responsible for components and systems from early concept through to current production.
Lead component and system Quality, Cost and Delivery target setting, compatibility, and adherence.
Manage the design, development and delivery of the Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems.
Manage the integration of Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems with Chassis Systems: Suspension, Steering, Subframes, Powertrain Mounts and Wheels & Tyres.
Create system archetypes and component development roadmaps for future vehicle cycle planning.
Ensure technical best practice documentation,



design manuals and testing procedures are appropriately created and maintained to ensure consistency and robust failure mode avoidance.
Ensure all failure mode avoidance activities, commodity planning, design progression and DVP testing is completed to achieve Final Engineering Sign Off in line with timing constraints.
Achieve business plan investment and piece cost targets.
Experience

10 to 15 years extensive industry experience in Chassis Engineering and Development within an automotive OEM or automotive components supplier.
Proven experience of directly or indirectly leading an engineering team in a highly demanding working setting.
Good working knowledge of Performance, Durability and NVH attributes their impact on Chassis Systems.
Excellent knowledge of testing and development processes, GD&T;, DFM & tooling principles, appreciation for VFM.
Excellent knowledge of Engineering Quality tools such as DFMEA, 6-sigma, 8D Problem Solving.
