About the Role
The NPD Engineer will be responsible for planning, developing, and industrializing new automotive components from customer drawing release through Start of Production (SOP). The role involves close coordination with customers, production, quality, tooling, procurement, and suppliers to ensure successful product launches while meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Recent Product Development
- Lead new product development activities from RFQ to SOP.
- Review customer drawings, specifications,
and technical requirements.
- Conduct manufacturing feasibility studies.
- Prepare project timelines and monitor milestone achievement.
- Coordinate prototype, pilot, and mass production activities.
APQP & PPAP
- Prepare APQP documentation.
- Develop Process Flow Diagram (PFD).
- Prepare PFMEA.
- Develop Control Plans.
- Coordinate PPAP documentation and customer submissions.
- Support customer audits and approvals.
Process Engineering
- Develop manufacturing processes for new products.
- Define process parameters and work instructions.
- Improve cycle time and productivity.
- Support line balancing and process optimization.
- Ensure manufacturability of new products.
Tooling & Fixture Development
- Coordinate development of dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
- Participate in tooling trials and validation.
- Support die modifications and engineering changes.
