Asset Liability Management and Investment Strategy Analyst
About the Department
Our Asset & Liability Management (ALM’) team uses our in-house software and sophisticated tools to model our clients’ assets and liabilities, and to design the means to help our clients’ investments meet their needs.
About the role
As a member of our ALM team, you’ll be responsible for:
- Modelling asset classes such as equities, credit, bonds, derivatives, hedge funds and other alternatives using in-house tools, alongside modelling DB pension fund contingent liabilities.
- Designing and implementing capital market and LDI solutions to reduce risk or increase expected returns.
- Evaluating the risks within pension funds (predominantly UK Defined Benefit) and other institutional investor portfolios.
- Monitoring markets and staying abreast of key developments; explaining and attributing their impact on client portfolios.
- Liaising with investment consultants to understand client needs, and using our proprietary modelling to deliver first class advice.
- Acting as first port of call for the consulting team to discuss project approach, plan delivery and opine on fees.
- Formulating ongoing investment strategy recommendations (aligned with CIO views, investment principles, client preferences and manager views) in response to changes in objectives, circumstances and market conditions.
