Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to independently manage the sourcing and procurement of APIs, pharmaceutical intermediates, chromatography columns, and specialty chemicals from domestic and international suppliers.

The candidate should possess a strong pharmaceutical vendor network, sound commercial judgment, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to ensure competitive pricing, product quality, and timely supply.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end domestic and international procurement of APIs, intermediates, chromatography columns, and specialty chemicals
• Identify, evaluate, develop, and maintain reliable manufacturers and suppliers
• Obtain quotations, prepare commercial comparisons, and negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supply conditions
• Develop alternate vendors to reduce dependency and procurement risk
• Conduct market analysis and monitor product availability and price movements
• Coordinate with quality, regulatory, logistics, finance, sales, and management teams
• Verify manufacturer credentials,



specifications, regulatory documents, and commercial terms before finalising purchases
• Ensure timely material availability against customer orders and shipment schedules
• Support product costing, margin analysis, and supply planning
• Maintain purchase orders, vendor records, price history, pending-order reports, and procurement MIS
• Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, documentation, pricing, shortages, and delivery delays
• Lead and guide a purchase team of 23 employees
• Build long-term, commercially beneficial relationships with manufacturers and authorised suppliers

Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum five years of procurement experience in the pharmaceutical API industry
• Solid experience in sourcing APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates
• An established network of API manufacturers and suppliers
• Practical experience in vendor development, commercial evaluation, negotiatio
