Job description: New Product development Engineer - Automotive

We are looking for this position at our molding rubber parts manufacturing plant at Chakan Pune.

Roles & Responsibility

New Product Development (NPD)
- Coordinate new product development activities from enquiry stage to mass production.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, standards, and technical requirements.
- Support feasibility study for new product development.
- Coordinate with customers for technical clarification and development activities.
- Prepare development plan and ensure timely execution of activities.

APQP & PPAP Activities
- Prepare and maintain APQP documents as per customer requirements.
- Coordinate preparation of PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow, MSA, SPC, and PPAP documents.
- Ensure PPAP submission within customer timeline.
- Maintain development and approval records.

Trial & Validation Activities




- Plan and monitor sample trials, and validation activities (Trial reports).
- Analyse trial results and coordinate corrective actions for issues identified.
- Ensure product meets dimensional, functional, and appearance requirements.
- Coordinate sample dispatch and approval activities.

Tool Development & Management
- Coordinate recent mould/tool development activities with tool makers/vendors.
- Monitor tool manufacturing progress and ensure timely completion.
- Verify tool dimensions and trial performance before approval.
- Maintain tool history, identification, and maintenance records.

Tool Maintenance Coordination
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedule of moulds/tools.
- Ensure proper storage and preservation of tools.
- Coordinate tool repair, modification, and breakdown activities.
- Maintain tool life and tool performance records.

Engineering Change Management
- Implement engineering changes and customer change
