Western Music Teacher

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Western Music Teacher to join our school. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of Western music, be proficient in both vocal and instrumental music, and have the ability to inspire students to develop creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach Western vocal and instrumental music to students across different grade levels.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons.
- Train students in music theory, rhythm, harmony, and performance techniques.
- Prepare students for school concerts, competitions, assemblies, and annual events.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, confidence, and stage presence.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain music instruments and classroom resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and school leadership for cultural and co-curricular activities.

Candidate Profile




- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Western Music.
- Excellent spoken English communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Western music theory and practical application.
- Proficiency in vocals and one or more musical instruments (Piano, Keyboard, Guitar, etc.).
- Passionate about teaching and mentoring students.
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience conducting choir, orchestra, or school band.
- Experience preparing students for music examinations (ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool, etc.) is preferred.
- Ability to integrate technology into music teaching.
