Responsibilities:
- Review RFP documents/requests for estimates to understand project details and requirements.
- Reviews and interprets engineering documentation such as drawings/specifications/scope of works to fully understand the project requirements for detailed and accurate estimating.
- Initiate detailed quantity take-offs against the technical drawings, specifications and scope of work documentation and conduct bulk checks to validate.
- Produce quantity take-offs to provide further pricing details to fill gaps in the measurement.
- Consolidate detailed and accurate Bill of Quantities to a recognized Method of Measurement for the whole discipline scope of works.
- Produce timely Requests for Clarification/Information and action responses.
- Produce “Bottom-Up” first-principles pricing for Bill of Quantities items.
- Analyse first-principles rates against current known market rates.
- Initiate tender enquiries for materials and plants to support first-principles pricing.
- Liaise with Procurement Team on Subcontract Package scope of works, documentation and quotation responses.
- Analyse Technical and Commercial Package Adjudications and query as required.
- Analyse Subcontract Package pricing against first-principles build-ups.
- Produce risk data input to the tender Risk Analysis.
- Produce list of pricing exclusions, deviation and assumptions.
- Present estimating deliverables for review to Management
- Input pricing detail into the proposal format required by the tender in a timely manner.
- Collate and check tender bids against estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with other departments: Engineering, Planning, Procurement & Subcontracting Management and Project Commercial Management to ensure effective information flow to support the pricing.
- Works within the guidelines of the estimate plan produced by the Estimating Lead.
