Mechanical engineer/operator with 3 - 6 years in CMM programming and metrology. Proficient in GD&T;, inspection reports, calibration, ISO/IATF, and precision measurement tools with a strong focus on quality.
Role: Quality Control/ Inspection / Auditor
We are seeking a skilled CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Calibration & Part Checking Engineer, who will head our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, calibrating, and maintaining CMM machines to ensure precise measurement and inspection of parts.
The role requires high-level expertise in dimensional inspection, solid understanding of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Candidate needs to have experience in production with Precise Quality Control in Precision Machining. Experience in ISO/IATF Compliance and Reporting is required.
Should have hands on experience with either PC-DMIS, Calypso or MCOSMOS
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and program CMM machines for accurate part inspection and measurement.
- Offline Programming experience in DMIS
- Perform regular calibration of CMM machines to maintain accuracy and precision.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models for measurement and analysis.
- Conduct first article inspection (FAI), in-process, and final inspection of machined parts.
- Identify and report deviations from specifications and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records of calibration, inspection results, and compliance documentation.
- Work closely with production teams, and design engineers to ensure product conformance.
- Troubleshoot CMM-related issues and collaborate with maintenance teams for repairs if needed.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, AS9100, and other relevant industry standards.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on CMM operations and best practices.
- Experience in using other Measuring devices and or 3D Scanners is a plus.
