We're looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to develop and maintain the hardware platform that powers our gaming console. You will work on integrating embedded hardware, Android-based systems, peripherals, and low-level software to build a reliable consumer product.
You will collaborate closely with hardware, software, and game development teams to ensure the console delivers a seamless experience from power-on to gameplay.
Key Responsibilities: Embedded System Development
- Develop and maintain the embedded software stack for our gaming console.
- Configure and customize Android-based operating systems for dedicated kiosk use.
- Optimize system boot time, stability, and overall performance.
- Implement automatic application launch and device provisioning.
Hardware Integration
- Integrate hardware components including:
- USB cameras
- Displays and HDMI interfaces
- Audio systems
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules
- USB peripherals
- Power management systems
- Develop and test hardware interfaces and communication protocols.
- Work closely with PCB and mechanical engineers during product development.
Camera & Sensor Integration
- Integrate USB cameras and optimize performance for real-time computer vision.
- Configure camera drivers and video pipelines.
- Troubleshoot camera compatibility and latency issues.
- Support future integration of additional sensors and peripherals.
Connectivity
- Implement Wi-Fi setup and device onboarding for first-time users.
- Manage Bluetooth device pairing where required.
- Configure secure networking and remote connectivity.
- Support OTA (Over-the-Air) software updates.
System Performance & Optimization
- Optimize CPU, GPU, memory, and storage usage.
- Improve application startup times and responsiveness.
- Diagnose hardware and software bottlenecks.
