About entele:
Resistance in major crop pests is outpacing the industry's ability to discover new modes of action. Bringing a new crop-protection molecule to market takes over a decade and hundreds of millions of dollars because every candidate must balance potency, selectivity, safety, environmental fate, manufacturability, and cost.
At Entele, we're building a platform for
small-molecule discovery
by combining
physics-based modeling, generative AI, predictive models, and experimental validation
. Through collaborations with
IPFT
and
IARI
, we're building a closed design–make–test–learn loop to accelerate molecular discovery in crop protection.
Role:
We're looking for our
first scientific hire.
This is not a traditional computational chemistry role or a pure AI research role. You'll work closely with the founders and AI researchers to bring the intuition of an experienced discovery scientist into our models—helping define what they should optimize, how success should be measured, and how AI should integrate into real-world hit generation,
hit-to-lead, and lead optimization workflows.
Our long-term vision is easy but ambitious:
given a desired biological and chemical property profile, generate the right molecule.
whom we are looking for:
We're looking for someone with
rich experience in small-molecule discovery
(agrochemicals preferred, pharmaceutical discovery also highly relevant).
The ideal person has hands-on experience with
virtual screening, molecular docking, molecular modeling, structure–activity relationships (SAR), hit generation, hit-to-lead, lead optimization, and interpretation of experimental assay data
.
More importantly, we're looking for someone who has sat in discovery meetings with dozens of candidate molecules and had to decide
which few should actually be synthesized and tested next
. If you're excited about helping build the future of molecular discovery, we'd love to hear from you.
