Quality Assurance Engineer — Tubes & Pipes

Ombre Stainless manufactures stainless steel tubes and pipes. We're ISO 9001 certified and our customers buy from us because the product is consistent. We're looking for a QA engineer to keep it that way — someone who owns quality end-to-end, not someone who signs off on paperwork somebody else filled in.

What you'll do
- Run and interpret mechanical and dimensional testing — tensile, flattening, flaring, hardness, hydro, pitch and wall thickness checks
- Own incoming raw material inspection: verify coil chemistry and grade against what the supplier claims, and catch substitutions before they reach the mill
- Maintain heat and lot traceability from coil to dispatched bundle
- Investigate defects to root cause — weld seam, surface finish, ovality, wall thickness variation, straightness — and close them with corrective action that actually holds
- Own our ISO 9001 system day to day: inspection plans, control of documents and records, calibration schedule, non-conformance and CAPA,



internal audits
- Carry us through surveillance audits cleanly
- Run management review inputs — defect trends, customer complaints, rejection cost — and turn them into decisions, not slides
- Prepare test certificates and face customer inspections directly

What we're looking for
- 4+ years in QA at a tube, pipe, or long-products plant — you've stood on the shop floor, not just in the lab
- Hands-on with an ISO 9001 system through real surveillance audits, not just working inside one someone else ran
- Internal auditor or lead auditor qualification is a plus
- You can read a customer's quality requirement, translate it into what the mill actually has to do differently, and hold the line when production pushes back
- Comfortable being the person who stops a dispatch
- Consistency is the point: our product quality doesn't drift, and the person in this seat is the reason
