Role & responsibilities

1. Curriculum Planning and Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons in accordance with the CBSE curriculum and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
- Prepare annual plans, unit plans, lesson plans, and teaching-learning materials.
- Ensure timely completion of the syllabus while maintaining academic quality.
- Integrate experiential, inquiry-based, competency-based, and project-based learning approaches.
- Relate chemistry concepts to everyday life and environmental issues.

2. Classroom Teaching
- Teach Chemistry to students of Grades VIIIXII using effective pedagogical practices.
- Promote conceptual understanding through demonstrations, experiments, models, ICT tools, and interactive discussions.
- Encourage scientific temperament, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

3. Laboratory Management
- Conduct practical classes as prescribed by CBSE.
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
- Prepare laboratory experiments, demonstrations,



and practical assessments.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, glassware, and inventory.
- Ensure secure storage and disposal of chemicals.
- Maintain practical records and laboratory registers.

4. Student Assessment and Evaluation
- Prepare competency-based question papers aligned with CBSE assessment patterns.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate answer scripts, practical records, projects, and assignments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Identify learning gaps and conduct remedial and enrichment classes.
- Maintain assessment records and student portfolios.

5. Academic Mentoring
- Mentor students in academic planning and career guidance.
- Support students preparing for:
- CBSE Board Examinations (Class X & XII)
- JEE
- NEET
- KVPY/INSPIRE (where applicable)
- Science Olympiads
- Encourage independent learning and scientific inquiry.
