As an Electrical CAD Designer within the Automotive Wiring Harness & Electrical Modules/Systems team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and integration of electrical components. Your responsibilities will include conducting benchmarking and packaging studies to determine optimal locations for electrical modules and systems within vehicles. You will independently design attachment schemes and brackets for these systems, making informed technical decisions in collaboration with D&R; Engineers and suppliers. A core part of this role involves utilizing CAD software for comprehensive wiring harness design, including wiring optimization studies and the creation of detailed drawings. You will also work closely with the Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team, providing support and developing innovative engineered solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of vehicle architecture and a keen eye for manufacturing, assembly, and service feasibility.
- Understanding EESE Architecture, Components & Requirements and develop EDS Harness for EESE Modules, Sensors & Components.
- Conduct benchmarking and packaging studies and independently design attachment schemes or bracket designs for electrical modules/systems.
- Take technical decisions with D&R; Engineers and suppliers as required.
- Utilize Catia/3DX tools for wiring harness design, plastic and sheet metal bracket design, wiring optimization studies, and drawing creation.
- Collaborate closely with the Electrical & Electronics Systems Engineering (EESE) team to support requests and develop engineered solutions.
- Independently design attachment schemes or bracket designs for electrical modules/systems.
- Handle program stakeholders and suppliers effectively through robust communication.
Education Qualification:
- Degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Electrical Engineering.
