Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

The role is for a Manager with the responsibility Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems deliverables and to provide cross functional leadership in the development of the wider Chassis &system; department.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day management of the Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems. Responsible for components and systems from early concept through to current production.
- Lead component and system Quality, Cost and Delivery target setting, compatibility, and adherence.
- Manage the design, development and delivery of the Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems.
- Manage the integration of Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems with Chassis Systems: Suspension, Steering, Subframes, Powertrain Mounts and Wheels & Tyres.
- Create system archetypes and component development roadmaps for future vehicle cycle planning.
- Ensure technical best practice documentation,



design manuals and testing procedures are appropriately created and maintained to ensure consistency and robust failure mode avoidance.
- Ensure all failure mode avoidance activities, commodity planning, design progression and DVP testing is completed to achieve Final Engineering Sign Off in line with timing constraints.
- Achieve business plan investment and piece cost targets.

Experience
- 10 to 15 years extensive industry experience in Chassis Engineering and Development within an automotive OEM or automotive components supplier.
- Proven experience of directly or indirectly leading an engineering team in a highly demanding working setting.
- Good working knowledge of Performance, Durability and NVH attributes their impact on Chassis Systems.
- Excellent knowledge of testing and development processes, GD&T;, DFM & tooling principles, appreciation for VFM.
- Excellent knowledge of Engineering Quality tools such as DFMEA, 6-sigma, 8D P
