The Junior Web Developer is responsible for the end-to-end development of client websites, working across four key phases: Build, Test, and Operate & Maintain.
The role requires a hands-on qualified who can translate client briefs into functional, secure, and visually engaging websites using modern development tools and best practices.
This is a client-facing services role best suited to candidates with agency or service-provider
experience.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Duties:
BUILD
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using best software development practices.
- Create website layouts and user interfaces using standard HTML / CSS practices.
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases.
- Integrate with third-party tools and plugins as required.
- Ensure security through appropriate security platforms and SSL certificates.
- Use developer environments such as WordPress,
Wix, or others as preferred by the customer.
TEST
- Test for features and functionality to ensure they meet client specifications.
- Test for navigability and user friendliness across devices and browsers.
- Conduct security testing to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
OPERATE & MAINTAIN
- Ensure continuous upkeep of the website and make incremental improvements as required.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the website in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Must-Have Skills:
Wordpress and shopify
- Front-End Development: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and responsive web design principles.
- Back-End Development: Experience with PHP and server-side scripting.
- Database: Hands-on experience with MySQL for database design and querying.
- CMS Platforms: Practical experience with WordPress; exposure to Wix or similar platforms.
