Job Description Lead Ignition Developer

Note: It is a plant based role means 6 day working but the company the adaptable to provide wfh for that day

Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Ignition Developer to own, develop, and maintain the Ignition platform across production environments. The successful candidate will lead platform architecture, system integrations, contractor management, dashboard development, and infrastructure coordination while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing industrial automation solutions.

Key Accountability Areas

Ignition Platform Ownership
- Lead setup, configuration, and maintenance of the Ignition platform across production environments.
- Manage project structure, tags, security zones, and Perspective module architecture.
- Implement versioning and backup standards using EAM or Git integrations.

Contractor & Vendor Oversight
- Manage day-to-day execution and quality from external Ignition contractors and service partners.
- Define integration specs, enforce review gates, and ensure contract scope adherence.

Infrastructure Integration




- Collaborate with OT/IT teams to configure VM, storage, and network environments for Ignition.
- Define sizing and high-availability topology (e.g., 3-node clustering, failover support).

Perspective UI & Dashboards
- Build scalable and responsive dashboards using Perspective views and embedded reports.
- Design intuitive UIs for operators, engineers, and supervisors across plant roles.

Hardware & System Integration
- Integrate Ignition with various field hardware (PLCs, sensors, vision cameras, etc.) using protocols like OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, etc.
- Connect to external systems like SCADA historians, MES, and ERP (SAP, Oracle) for bidirectional data sync.

Data & Event Handling
- Implement data ingestion, scripting, alerts, tag history, and REST/MQTT connectors to external APIs or devices.
- Enable Edge-to-Cloud event handling with IoT Hub, Kafka, or Event Grid where applicable.
