Job Summary: The Payroll Tax Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll tax compliance within the Shared Services team for the Safety Services segment. This role requires a detail-oriented and highly organized individual with extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. The Payroll Tax Specialist will ensure accurate and timely payroll tax filings, resolve tax-related issues, and support the overall payroll process.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including quarterly and annual filings.
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Respond to and resolve payroll tax inquiries from government agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll tax transactions and documentation.
- Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Assist with payroll tax audits and provide necessary documentation and support.




- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll tax compliance and efficiency.
- Reconcile transactional tax information between payroll systems

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll tax compliance.
- Robust knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
- Experience in a shared services environment.
- Knowledge of payroll tax implications for multi-state employers.
