Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Manufacturing Excellence to drive Operational Excellence initiatives across our chemical manufacturing plant. The role involves leading continuous improvement projects, enhancing productivity, optimizing manufacturing costs, implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and supporting digital transformation initiatives to improve overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the plant.
- Identify and execute productivity, quality, cost reduction, and process optimization projects.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Capacity Utilization, Cycle Time, Downtime, and Utility Consumption.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, FMEA, and PDCA.
- Develop and standardize manufacturing processes, SOPs, and best practices.
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects involving Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain,



and Maintenance teams.
- Support Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing initiatives through ERP, MES, Power BI, and data analytics.
- Facilitate employee engagement programs such as Kaizen, suggestion schemes, and Lean awareness sessions.
- Track project benefits, cost savings, and operational performance through dashboards and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, Quality, GMP (where applicable), ISO standards, and Responsible Care requirements.

Preferred candidate profile
- 58 years of experience in Manufacturing Excellence, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, or Production within the Chemical, Specialty Chemical, API, Pharma, or Process Industry.
- Robust knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), OEE, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience in executing productivity improvement and cost optimization projects.
