Role & responsibilities

The Nursing Staff at Ortho Central plays a vital role in delivering safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care while supporting the orthopaedic team in providing high-quality musculoskeletal services.

Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the orthopaedic consultant during patient consultations and clinical procedures.
- Prepare patients for examination, procedures, injections, and minor orthopaedic interventions.
- Perform wound dressing, suture removal, plaster/splint assistance, injections, and other nursing procedures as directed.
- Monitor and record patients vital signs and clinical observations.
- Provide patient education on medications, wound care, rehabilitation, and post-procedure instructions.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
- Ensure cleanliness, sterilisation, and maintenance of consultation rooms, procedure rooms, and medical equipment.
- Assist with Digital X-ray, physiotherapy, and other in-house services by coordinating patient flow.
- Manage medical consumables, stock inventory, and emergency supplies.




- Adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
- Coordinate appointments and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Respond promptly to patient needs while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.

Preferred candidate profile
- GNM or B.Sc. Nursing qualification from a recognised institution.
- Valid Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council (KNMC) registration.
- Freshers with excellent clinical aptitude are welcome to apply; candidates with 13 years of experience in orthopaedics, emergency care, operation theatre, or outpatient clinics will be preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is desirable.
- Valuable communication skills in English and Malayalam; knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy outpatient setting.
