Core Responsibilities
- Vector Path Optimization: Create and optimize clean, closed vector paths with accurate nodes to prevent tool-path errors, burning, or material wastage during production.
- Material & Tooling Calibration: Adapt designs based on the specific material thickness, bit sizes (V-carve, ball-nose, straight cut), and clearance tolerances required for CNC routing, laser cutting, or plasma cutting.
- Layout & Nesting: Arrange multiple design components efficiently on raw sheets (nesting) to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.
- 3D Modeling & Reliefs: Develop 2D DXF/DWG flat cuts as well as 3D bas-relief models and textured wall panels using CAD/CAM-friendly design software.
- File Preparation & G-code Verification: Convert creative artwork into industrial formats (DXF, DWG, EPS, AI) and coordinate with CNC operators to ensure files translate perfectly into G-code without alignment issues.
