The L3 Software Asset Management (SAM) Licensing Subject Matter Expert (SME) is responsible for providing deep expertise in software licensing and asset management. This role ensures that our software assets are managed effectively, compliant with licensing agreements, and optimized for cost-efficiency. The L3 SAM Licensing SME will work closely with various stakeholders across the organization, including IT, procurement, legal, and finance teams, to ensure robust software asset management practices.
Key Responsibilities
Licensing Expertise
- Provide in-depth knowledge and guidance on software licensing policies, terms, and conditions for various software vendors.
- Interpret and apply licensing agreements to ensure compliance and avoid legal risks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software licensing trends, changes, and best practices.
Software Asset Management
- Develop and implement SAM policies and procedures to manage software assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with licensing agreements and internal policies.
- Optimize software asset utilization to maximize value and minimize costs.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SAM tools and processes into existing systems and workflows.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with procurement and legal teams during software purchasing and contract negotiations.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on software licensing and SAM best practices.
- Assist finance teams in budget planning and reporting related to software assets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software asset management and licensing.
- Robust understanding of various software licensing models (e.g., perpetual, subscription, SaaS).
