Core Responsibilities

1. Port & Terminal Operations
- Coordinate Port Calls:
Schedule berths, arrange port agency appointments, and liaise with stevedores for loading and discharging operations.
- Laytime & Turnaround:
Monitor cargo handling rates to ensure vessel turnaround times are optimized, and calculate laytime (demurrage/despatch) based on Charter Party clauses.
- Cargo Stowage:
Review stowage plans, hold cleaning plans, and draft/calculate weight and volume to maximize cargo uplift.
- Weight Verification:
Coordinate with port weighbridges and surveyors to verify loaded or discharged bulk tonnages.

2. Documentation & Compliance
- Shipping Documents:
Prepare and process crucial shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Cargo Manifests, and Statements of Fact.
- Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all cargo handling complies with port regulations, maritime laws, and international safety codes.
- Customs Coordination:
Liaise with customs brokers and port authorities to facilitate clearance and resolve discrepancies.

3. Stakeholder Communication
- Liaise with Parties:




Act as the primary link between ship masters, port agents, charterers, cargo surveyors, and internal commercial/logistics teams.
- Update Reporting:
Maintain logs and update internal systems on vessel arrival/departure times, cargo status, and any potential delays.

4. Financial & Risk Management
- Disbursement Accounts:
Review and approve Proforma Disbursement Accounts (PDA) and Final Disbursement Accounts (FDA) with port agents.
- Claims Management:
Assist in handling cargo shortage/damage claims, insurance claims, and demurrage disputes.

Required Qualifications
- Education:
IIT / NIIT Business management students, Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management.
- Experience:
0.6 to 1 year of experience in dry bulk or liquid cargo, port agency operations, or maritime freight forwarding.

Excellent knowledge of high proficiency in MS Excel, and solid negotiat
