Position: Offshore Medical Coder – Emergency Department (ED) & Evaluation and Management (E/M)

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and certified Medical Coders to join our offshore coding team. This role focuses exclusively on Emergency Department (ED) and Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding. Candidates must possess an active coding certification excluding CPC-A and have a strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for Emergency Department (ED) and E/M encounters.
- Review provider documentation to ensure accurate code assignment and compliance with payer guidelines.
- Maintain coding quality, productivity, and accuracy standards.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate queries when appropriate.
- Stay current with coding regulations, payer policies, and industry updates.
- Participate in internal quality audits and educational sessions.

Required Qualifications
- Active coding certification (CPC, CCS, CIC, COC,



RHIT, or RHIA).
- CPC-A (Apprentice) certification is NOT eligible.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on coding experience in Emergency Department (ED) and Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and official coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and encoder software.
- Solid written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coding for U.S. healthcare providers.
- Familiarity with EPIC, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar EHR platforms.
- Previous experience working in an offshore medical coding environment.
