1. Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials as per engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable standards (e.g., IS 2062).
2. Perform dimensional inspection using calibrated measuring instruments and ensure all inspection equipment is properly maintained.
3. Identify, segregate, and document non-conforming materials, and coordinate with relevant departments for corrective actions.
4. Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure consistent inspection practices across all shifts.
5. Interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T;, to verify critical dimensions and quality requirements.
6. Support Recent Product Development (NPD)
and PPAP activities by ensuring products meet customer quality requirements.
7. Analyze quality issues using 7 QC Tools, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D methodology, and Poka-Yoke techniques to prevent recurrence.
8. Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen initiatives, process optimization, and implementation of inspection improvements.
9. Maintain 5S standards, inspection records, KPI performance, and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
10. Collaborate with Production, Stores, Warehouse, and other departments to reduce defects, improve quality, and achieve customer PPM targets.
