Role & responsibilities
- Write and maintain Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scenarios, and Test Specifications traceable to the SRS.
- Execute Functional, Regression, Integration, Performance, and User Acceptance Testing on each build.
- Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects to closure using a defect-tracking tool.
- Validate software installers, configuration, and deployment on target machines.
- Generate Test Reports for every release cycle with clear pass/fail evidence and severity-tagged defect lists.
- Author and maintain Software User Manuals, release notes, and internal test documentation.
- Coordinate with the development team during sprint and pre-release windows to ensure adequate test coverage.
- Reproduce and root-cause field issues raised by sales and service teams, and convert them into regression cases.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test coverage, and reporting metrics.
- Support automation initiatives by drafting structured, reusable validation steps.
Preferred candidate profile
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing or quality assurance of shipped products (not training projects, not internship-only).
• Solid grasp of the Software Testing Life Cycle, defect lifecycle, and severity / priority discipline.
• Demonstrable experience writing structured test cases and test reports; candidates should be able to share or recreate a sample on request.
• Hands-on with at least one defect-tracking tool (Jira, Azure DevOps, Bugzilla, or equivalent).
• Solid written English; the role includes authoring user manuals and customer-facing documentation.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the discipline to retest until closure.
