Role overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Australian Accountant with 4-8 years of experience supporting Australian businesses and managing client accounts independently.

This is a senior-level role suited to an accounting qualified with extensive hands-on experience in Xero, Australian taxation and compliance requirements, financial reporting, and client management. The ideal candidate will be confident working autonomously, managing multiple client portfolios, identifying and resolving issues proactively, and delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision

Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves direct interaction with Australian clients

Key responsibilities:

· Manage end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting functions for Australian clients using Xero.

· Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure data integrity across client files.

· Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment allocation, supplier reconciliations, and debtor management.

· Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS.





· Assist with preparation of Income Tax Returns, Company Tax Returns, Trust Tax Returns, Partnership Tax Returns, and Financial Statements where required.

· Prepare month-end and year-end workpapers for accountants and external auditors.

· Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, intercompany transactions, and suspense accounts.

· Prepare monthly management reports including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Reports, and budget variance reports.

· Manage Xero file setup, chart of accounts maintenance, and system clean-ups.

· Perform historical data reviews and bookkeeping catch-up work where required.

· Support Xero migrations and conversions from other accounting platforms.

· Liaise directly with Australian clients regarding bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, compliance, and operational matters.
