Role Description
The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and growing Sahyadri Code Works’ volunteer network. Day-to-day tasks include recruiting volunteers, coordinating onboarding and training, and matching volunteers to appropriate projects and community initiatives. The role involves maintaining regular communication with volunteers, resolving questions or concerns, and ensuring a positive and inclusive volunteer experience. The Coordinator will collaborate with internal teams to identify areas where volunteers can contribute, track volunteer activities and impact, and support community outreach efforts that align with the organization’s mission.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training skills to effectively coordinate, onboard, and support volunteers.
- Candidates should possess excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, motivate volunteers, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess Community Outreach experience to design and implement initiatives that engage local organizations, partners, and communities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple volunteers and projects in a remote environment.
- Comfort with digital tools (email, video conferencing, shared documents, basic project management platforms) for remote coordination.
- Prior experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit or community programs is beneficial.
