Position: Executive/Engineer - New Product Development (NPD)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Recent Product Development Engineer to convert sofa concepts into production-ready designs and documentation. The role involves creating accurate CAD drawings, fabric cutting patterns, wooden frame drawings, assembly drawings, and technical documentation while working closely with pattern masters, carpenters, sampling teams, and production.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop 2D technical drawings for sofa components using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Create fabric pattern drawings for upholstery cutting and stitching.
- Prepare wooden frame drawings with dimensions, joinery details, and BOM references.
- Develop assembly drawings for manufacturing and production teams.
- Generate exploded views and part-level drawings for new products.
- Coordinate with pattern masters, carpenters, and prototype teams during product development.




- Convert designer sketches or reference images into manufacturing-ready drawings.
- Ensure drawings are optimized for ease of manufacturing and cost efficiency.
- Maintain drawing revisions, version control, and technical documentation.
- Support pilot builds and incorporate design improvements based on trial feedback.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and standard operating instructions where required.
- Work with sourcing and production teams to ensure components match design intent.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Required Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Ability to prepare detailed engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and drafting standards.
- Knowledge of furniture construction, upholstery, or woodworking is preferred.
- Ability to visualize 3D structures from 2D drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and attention
