Floor Manager Production Operations

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and disciplined Floor Manager to oversee day-to-day shop floor operations at our steel processing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth production, optimum machine utilization, high product quality, timely dispatches, and adherence to safety standards while leading shop-floor teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities.
- Allocate jobs to CNC Plasma, Laser, Oxyfuel, and other processing machines.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
- Lead and manage machine operators, helpers, and loading teams.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications.
- Minimize material wastage and improve productivity.
- Monitor machine utilization and coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Maintain production, quality, and dispatch records.
- Ensure workplace safety, housekeeping (5S), and discipline.
- Coordinate with Sales, Design, Stores, and Dispatch for smooth workflow.




- Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Train and motivate shop-floor employees to improve performance.

Requirements
- Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 38 years of experience in manufacturing or steel processing.
- Experience in leading shop-floor teams.
- Good understanding of production planning, quality control, and maintenance coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
- Basic computer knowledge (Excel, ERP/MIS) is preferred.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in CNC Plasma, Laser, Oxyfuel Cutting, fabrication, or steel processing industries.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen will be an advantage.
