Role Overview:

NPCI is seeking a seasoned legal skilled for its litigation and dispute resolution function. The ideal candidate should possess deep knowledge of Indian civil and criminal procedure, commercial laws, along with robust experience in handling complex civil, corporate, and consumer disputes.

Requirements

A. Litigation Dispute Management
- Lead litigation management across civil, criminal, commercial, and consumer disputes.
- Draft and review counter affidavits, pleadings, petitions, appeals, written statements, replies to legal notices and other applications.
- Use AI-assisted tools for legal research, case law analysis, and drafting.
- Execute litigation strategies, including pre-litigation risk mitigation and settlement negotiations.
- Ensure timely filings, compliance with court orders and adherence to procedural requirements.
- Assist intellectual property related issues and litigation.
- Handle responses to regulatory/government authorities, summons, and investigations.

B. External Counsel Management




- Manage empanelled law firms and senior counsels in relation to ongoing litigation, including briefing, performance monitoring, and adherence to legal budgets.
- Negotiate fee structures and drive cost-effective strategies.
- Review legal opinions and due diligence outputs.

C. Updating Senior Management
- Update senior management and Board on litigation exposure, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Present data-backed dashboards and predictive insights on litigation exposure and outcomes.
- Prepare litigation updates and board/committee presentations on key litigation matters and respond to queries thereof.

D. Internal Collaboration
- Partner with business, finance, HR, compliance teams to resolve sensitive dispute matters and on overall risk mitigation.
- Provide guidance on dispute resolution clauses and governing law in contracts.

E. AI, Data Legal Technology Enablement
- Drive adoption of AI-powered legal tools for
