1. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance under the Income Tax Act, GST law, Companies Act, FEMA (cross-border transactions, ECBs, import/export remittances, where applicable), and other relevant laws.
- Maintain and update a compliance calendar; ensure timely completion of all statutory due dates.
- Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory bodies during assessments, inspections and audits.
2. GST / Indirect Tax Compliance
- Review and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C).
- Reconcile GST data with books of accounts; ensure Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation and compliance.
- Ensure compliance on e-invoicing and e-way bills.
- Represent the unit in GST assessments, audits and departmental notices / queries.
3. Direct Tax Compliance
- Review and file Income Tax Returns.
- Ensure timely payment of Advance Tax, Self-Assessment Tax and other direct tax liabilities.
- Handle TDS compliance deduction, deposit, reconciliation and filing of TDS returns.
- Respond to income tax notices and departmental queries.
4. Mining & Industry-Specific Compliance
- Ensure compliance with laws applicable to mining and beneficiation operations, including the Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation) Act and Mineral Concession Rules.
- Ensure timely District Mineral Foundation (DMF) and National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) contributions.
- Monitor environmental clearance conditions and Pollution Control Board consents.
- Ensure Factories Act registrations, Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, PF / ESI, qualified tax and other industry-specific statutory compliance.
5. Financial Reporting & Compliance Monitoring
- Review financial records to ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Prepare compliance MIS and reports for management; identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain SOPs to improve compliance efficiency.
