Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive seating plastic components from concept through production.
- Create high-quality 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using CATIA and NX.
- Develop seating plastic components while considering manufacturability, tooling feasibility, and cost optimization.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure functional and dimensional requirements.
- Apply DFMEA, CAE inputs, and seating regulations during product development.
- Collaborate with CAE, manufacturing, tooling, quality, and program management teams.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed according to program milestones and customer timelines.
- Follow CAD methodologies, design standards, and best practices throughout the development process.
- Support design validation, engineering changes, and release activities.
- Participate in design reviews, feasibility studies, and technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement activities and resolve engineering issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
Required Technical Skills
- 610 years of experience in automotive product design.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Automotive Seating Plastics Design.
- Strong expertise in CATIA V5 and/or Siemens NX.
- Experience in designing seating plastic components and assemblies.
- Good understanding of automotive interiors, seating systems, and plastic product development.
- Robust knowledge of:
- CAD methodologies and best practices
- Plastic part design guidelines
- Tooling feasibility and manufacturing processes
- Tolerance Stack-up Analysis
- DFMEA
- CAE integration
- Seating Regulations
- Familiarity with engineering program timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Knowledge of automotive product development lifecycle (APQP preferred).
- Experience with engineering change management
