POSITION OVERVIEW
To work with the Pune Supply Chain function to minimise the Pune overall purchasing costs without compromising the quality or reliability of supply. To Plan, direct, and monitor all Supply Chain activities so that the goods, materials, supplies, and services the Pune plant buys meet its standards of price, quality, timing, and supply reliability.
To Plan, direct, and monitor all materials (Direct & Indirect) planning, inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving activities so that the Pune plant has access to the inputs, materials, goods, and services it needs for its current and future operations.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- know about demand forecasting, supplier negotiation, inventory control, logistics management, and mitigating risks to maintain business continuity.
- Strategic Planning & Optimisation: Designing, implementing, and optimising supply chain strategies to align with organisational goals.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal departments and external partners.
- Procurement & Sourcing: Identifying, evaluating, and contracting with suppliers; managing purchasing activities, including raw materials and components.
- Inventory Control: Monitoring stock levels to meet demand while minimising holding costs, utilising methods like Just-in-Time (JIT) or Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI).
- Logistics & Distribution: Overseeing the movement of goods, including transport management, warehousing, route optimisation, and last-mile delivery.
- Demand Forecasting & Analysis: Analysing data to predict future demand and adjust production and procurement schedules accordingly.
- Risk Management: Anticipating disruptions (geopolitical, natural, supplier issues) and developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
- Performance Measurement (KPIs): Monitoring and reporting on key metrics such as Order Cycle Time, Inventory Turnover, and On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery.
