About the Role

We are looking for a commercially sharp Legal Manager to own end-to-end legal support for Housr’s pan-India operations. Working closely with the Founder’s Office, you will manage real estate transactions, commercial contracting, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution as the business scales. This is a high-ownership role suited to a lawyer who is equally comfortable drafting a complex lease, advising a business team, and managing external counsel.

Key Responsibilities
- Property & real estate transactions —
Conduct title due diligence and advise on land use, zoning and municipal regulations; draft, review and negotiate leave-and-license agreements, lease deeds and property management agreements with owners; oversee execution, notarisation and registration to ensure legal validity.
- Commercial contracting —
Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, service-provider, partnership and non-disclosure agreements; build and maintain standardised contract templates.
- Resident & customer agreements —




Draft and maintain occupancy and licence agreements and customer terms; advise on consumer-protection, refund and security-deposit positions.
- Regulatory & statutory compliance —
Track applicable central, state and municipal laws relevant to managed accommodation and corporate operations, and ensure contracts and practices stay current with regulatory change.
- Data protection —
Advise on the lawful handling of KYC and personal data, including compliance with India’s data-protection framework (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).
- Litigation & dispute resolution —
Draft and vet legal notices and responses; manage recovery, eviction and other disputes with owners, residents and vendors; instruct and supervise external counsel.
- Risk management —
Identify, assess and mitigate legal risk across the company’s pan-India operations.
