About the Role The Cost Pilot is responsible for managing product cost throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve product cost objectives without compromising quality, performance, or project timelines. The role involves establishing cost targets, monitoring cost performance, analyzing supplier quotations, and driving cost optimization initiatives. Success in this role means ensuring product cost objectives are achieved while maintaining functional and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a structured and accurate database of historical and current cost information for project reference and benchmarking.




- Ensure complete cost traceability across all project development milestones.
- Identify, assess, quantify, and monitor cost-related risks and opportunities throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Update project cost forecasts based on engineering changes, supplier quotations, commercial negotiations, and market conditions.
- Analyze supplier quotations for completeness, competitiveness, and compliance with technical and commercial requirements.
- Perform cost gap analysis in collaboration with cost engineering or should-cost teams to benchmark supplier quotations against target cost structures.
- Lead Design-to-Cost (D2C) and value engineering initiatives to optimize product cost while maintaining functional and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, finance, and suppliers to implement cost reduction opportunities.
